When I was in year 12 I would go into the city on a Saturday to a makeup course that would set me up for a career when I graduated. I worked in David Jones for 6 years and had many different roles, I worked for both YSL beauty and Dior Beauty but the makeup counters lacked the everyday hands on creativity I craved. I eventually moved up into an assistant management role that taught me a lot of valuable skills and lessons but I knew deep down I needed something more creative, that’s when my hairdresser told me she could see me in her place one day and I went home and researched how to get started with a hairdressing apprenticeship.

When I was a client I was always fascinated by what and why my hairdresser was doing what she did. I loved learning how much thought went into every colour decision, how one haircut structure on one client can look completely different on the next.

Client testimonies were initially what pointed me to Ella&Jade. Two of my family friends were longtime clients of E&J (and still are) and could not say more positive things about the salon environment, staff and education. Once I saw all of these things for myself I knew this was the salon for me.

Recently I’ve been loving a good book, rewatching my favourite show (sorry to all my clients that I’ve talked endlessly about criminal minds to) and beach days. I love a spicy margarita and will never miss an opportunity to go to a music festival.
