Why hairdressing?

I love that the industry is forever changing and evolving to grow and enhance itself.

We as hairstylists are lucky to have our own community. A world of people who are all creative and energised by collaborating to create beautiful hair. Whilst classic will always be classic, there is always more to learn and room to grow with new adaptations and stories to create. A person’s look expressed through their hair is a story of their life. It's beautiful. I learn something new everyday which is exciting and ensures that things never become monotonous. Your craft is an art and a way to create beauty with your own hands.

Why Ella&Jade?

I chose Ella&Jade, hair salon in Woolloongabba as the team, education, support and values align with mine as a professional.

What aspect of hair are you most interested in and why?

I love all aspects of hairdressing and really value looking after my clients from beginning, middle to end. I absolutely love working with Curls and texture! Extensions are a lot of fun and open up so many looks. I love having a mixture throughout my day and love styling.

Beyond the salon:

When I'm not working I love spending time relaxing. I enjoy quiet time watching a good TV series or book. I love keeping up to date with music and trends.

I love spending time with animals. I believe they teach us so much about the simple yet beautiful things in life.

When I'm not enjoying being an animal whisperer I like to spend time out in the sunshine. Whether that be going for walks or hanging in and by the pool. I also enjoy my quiet time which is spent reading, listening to music, or enjoying a TV series or a documentary.

I also enjoy researching and studying new styles, looks and techniques to ensure I keep at the forefront for everything I create.

More about Alyse…

Hey,  I'm Alyse! I’m Woolloongabba’s Team Leader and Master Stylist. I have been hairdressing for over 18 years now. I started with Ella&Jade in November 2021 working as a colour specialist after moving back here from Adelaide. Over my years of hairdressing, I have had wonderful opportunities to work backstage at Fashion Week, assist in photoshoots, as well as doing my own. I have also worked on location shoots and events for companies, weddings and photoshoots for newspapers.

I'm currently focused on building my extensions expertise and doing my own entry for Goldwell Global Creative Awards! Mix in to that running a busy column filled with all different hair types and textures and bringing joy and a harmonious environment for the team and our clientele.
